Assessment of the terrorist threat in Luxembourg following recent events in Europe (17.10.2023)

Following the recent events in our neighbouring countries, the Anti-terrorism Coordination Group (Groupe de coordination en matière de lutte contre le terrorisme, GCT) met at the Prime Minister's request in order to assess the possible threat on Luxembourg territory.

In the light of the information currently available, the GCT has no information that indicates any likely and concrete threat within the Grand Duchy.

Consequently, threat level 2 remains in force. In compliance with the VIGILNAT plan, level 2 is triggered when the terrorist threat is judged to be real but abstract.

The GCT has updated the list of sensitive sites and events and will continue to monitor the situation.
