Heavy ice warning: continued vigilance required Meeting of the “extreme weather conditions” crisis unit on Wednesday 17 January

The "extreme weather conditions" crisis unit met again on Wednesday 17 January 2024 at 7 and 8 a.m. under the chairmanship of the Minister for Home Affairs, Léon Gloden, to review the evolution of the situation.

Vigilance is still required following the arrival of heavy freezing rain at 6:00 am, which will continue until the early afternoon (14:00).

After a slight break and a rise in temperatures during the afternoon, the precipitation could gradually change to snow.

RegioZone bus service situation

Due to the current weather situation, the RegioZone cross-border bus services to France and Saarland are suspended.

The following RegioZone lines are affected

- to France

- 501, 502, 503, 504, 505, 506, 507, 508, 551, 601, 603, 605, 642, 703, 731

- Germany (Saarland)

- 401, 402, 403, 404, 405

The ban on lorries over 7.5 tonnes remains in force on the entire motorway network.

The measures communicated yesterday evening by the crisis unit will be maintained.
