Test of the ‘LU-Alert’ public warning and information system (06.10.2025)
On Monday 6 October 2025, the government will continue to implement its strategy for testing the ‘LU-Alert’ public warning and information system by carrying out a monthly test of the siren network.
In addition, the geolocated SMS alert channel will be tested at around 11 a.m. in the municipalities of Rambrouch, Wahl, Grosbous, Mertzig, Feulen, Préizerdaul, Vichten, Redange, Ell, Useldange, Beckerich and Saeul. As with previous tests carried out by other public authorities, the geolocated SMS test message will be sent by MeteoLux. This test message will also be sent via the ‘LU-Alert’ mobile app and the website www.lu-alert.lu.
As this is a test alert, the public will not need to react or adopt any particular behaviour.
Please note that the ‘LU-Alert’ system does not work on a registration basis. This means that all mobile devices connected to a Luxembourg mobile network antenna at the time the SMS test message is triggered are targeted and will receive it.
Additional information and frequently asked questions are also available on the www.lu-alert.lu website.
